We are a hospital-based private group consisting of 33 radiologists in 7 radiology subspecialty areas providing services for over 3 decades to Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation (metro Memphis area), Tenn. Baptist-Memphis provides tertiary care and is located in the suburbs of east Memphis. We also serve BMH-Collierville, BMH-Germantown, BMH-Tipton, Baptist Hospital for Women and BMH-DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi.

Our Radiology Subspecialty Areas

Body Imaging
Body imaging encompasses techniques aimed at diagnosing diseases of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, cardiac, pulmonary and musculoskeletal systems. The body imaging section at Mid-South Imaging includes radiologists with specialized fellowship training in all these areas. Modalities used to image these organs include fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance.

Vascular Interventionalists
Our vascular interventionalists perform a wide range of angiographic and interventional procedures including venous and arterial vascular studies, non-cardiac balloon angioplasty and stent placement, caval umbrella filter placement, as well as vascular tumor ablation. We also perform needle biopsies for diagnostic purposes (chest, abdomen and pelvis), abscess drainage, and external drainage of obstructed kidneys or biliary systems. Uterine fibroid embolization, endovenous
laser treatments for varicose veins and peripheral vascular
screenings are also performed by our vascular interventional
radiologists at MSIT.

Interventional Neuroradiologists
Our interventional neuroradiologist treat an ever-widening range of neurological problems with invasive procedures aided by technologically advanced equipment. This field allows many tests and treatments to be done without the need for major surgery or a general anesthetic.

Mammography
In addition to routine screening mammography, diagnostic breast evaluations are performed using special mammographic views and ultrasound. Interventional breast procedures including mammographic and ultrasound guided needle localizations, ultrasound guided cyst aspirations and ultrasound guided core biopsies are available to aid the clinician in the diagnosis and management of breast diseases.
